The Revd Anthony Beer
Anthony was born and raised in Cardiff, not far from Roath Park, making his “entrance” in the winter of 1964 and the first boy to be baptised at Christchurch, by Roath Park in Cardiff. The Revd Marja Flipse
Marja joined our clergy team in October 2023. Following ordination in the Diocese of Llandaff in 2008, Marja served in three different parishes there before moving in 2020 to her home country of The Netherlands to serve in The Hague. She is a gifted liturgist and musician.
Nathan Bird
Nathan is the Director of Music for St Augustine’s Rumney, leading our adult choir and choristers, and helping to co-ordinate our liturgy and music. As the senior musician in the Ministry Area, he also advises our Ministry Team on matters to do with music and liturgy, and often assists with services and other events.
Eloise Smith
Eloise is our Ministry Area Administrator, and the first point of contact for most enquiries about our churches.
Ruth Young
Ruth spent her childhood in Cardiff, not far from the Ministry Area! Roath Park is one of her favourite places, although she now spends much more time in the playground watching her daughter explore. Since leaving Cardiff to go to University she has worked across the United Kingdom – in England, Scotland (and Northern Ireland for almost 2 weeks!) Rhys Collins
Rhys is our Ministry Area People’s Warden, following a six year stint in the same position in the former Cyncoed Benefice. He is also a local church warden at All Saints’ Llanedeyrn, where he worships on a weekly basis and has done for many years; he chairs their committee, maintains links with the school and occasionally leads worship so chances are if you attend worship there one week you will bump into Rhys. Phil Jones
Phil has been part of our Ministry Area over many years, first worshipping at St David’s Pentwyn and now in St Edeyrn’s, where he is also a local church warden. He is also a Foundation Governor at St Mellons Church in Wales Primary School.
Claire Ingrams
Claire is our Ministry Area Secretary and also a local Church Warden at All Saints’ Cyncoed. Claire is a solicitor latterly working for Citizens Advice and took early retirement last year; she continues her passion for social justice by volunteering two days a week at Cardiff Foodbank. Matthew Turner
Matthew is the Lay Co-chair of our Ministry Area Council and Board of Trustees, as well as a regular worshipper at St Augustine’s Rumney, and an experienced bell ringer.
