The Revd Rosemary Hill

The Revd Rosemary Hill

Mtr Rose has three children called Franky (20), Laura (17) and Grace (14).  Prior to taking up this post, she was curate in Penarth and Llandough and then Vicar to Pontyclun, Talygarn and Llanharry, both in the Diocese of Llandaff. Before the Priesthood, Rose taught Secondary English in a Roman Catholic High School.

Rose has a passion for young People’s theological education and is also currently writing a PhD in Theology. She was born and brought up within the catholic tradition of Anglicanism and this tradition has nurtured and fed her spiritually throughout her life.

Outside of ministry, Rose loves attending music concerts and live comedy, our music tastes are eclectic with everything from Nirvana and Counting Crows to Gregorian Chant and Tallis gracing my Spotify playlists. She has a passion for reading and really enjoys a wide array of genres; while her favourites are ghost stories and murder mysteries, she also loves poetry. She has just finished reading the Shardlake Mysteries by C.J. Sansom and is currently working her way through the Merrily Watkins and Cadfael mysteries. The whole family love animals and have three dogs called Baldrick, Basil and Parsnip.

Rose writes,

I am so looking forward to joining the East Cardiff Ministry Area as the Priest for Children, Families and Community and getting to know the St Teilo’s School community and the wider Ministry Area.  I am very excited for what the future holds as I prepare to join you and I want to assure you that you are all in my prayers as we prepare to move.
